The following segment aired on Lifetime Television. Joining the show was Company Jacamo and Lauri Faluka. They were here to discuss their pizza with our viewers.
Host, Ted Brunson: Well, football season is here, of course, and that means the big game is upon us. When you think about the big game, you think about parties. Family and friends coming over and, of course, they are looking for a drink and food. And what is the number one food for such a party? Well, pizza, of course. Now you could order out, you could have it delivered. That’s a little dicey, though. It could come back cold; it could come back with the wrong ingredients. All kinds of problems could happen. How do you control the perfect pizza for the perfect party? Well, believe it or not you can pull one out of the freezer and many different varieties and have restaurant quality pizza in your own home. And that’s why I’m here in Milwaukee Wisconsin, in the research and development kitchen of Palermo’s Pizza joined by the owners of the company Jacamo and Laurie Faluka. Jacamo, first of all thanks for having us and secondly, let’s talk about the family history here. This goes way back to your father over forty years ago, doesn’t it?
Jacamo: Well from Palermo, Sicily to here. Papa Palermo brought his recipes in a suitcase. You know, he was a baker by trade and then Italian foods and we had an Italian restaurant, so Italian food was in his blood all the way back from Sicily to where we are and we’ve carried that tradition on to our frozen pizza.
Designing Spaces: And it is restaurant quality and I know you are very proud to say that it is.
It is Pizzeria perfect! And you make sure that it is. I have a question. A lot of people out there may have questions. How do you make it pizzeria perfect because I know what the number one thing that people judge it on and that’s got to be the crust? How do you do it?
Jacamo: It is the crust. We have crust that go anywhere from a thicker crust pizza, our rustico pizza. If you like a thin crust, you can get our Premo thin crust. It’s got fresh toppings, fresh ingredients and a lot lighter feel. And then we go to our newest, which is our hard tatallia pizza. And that pizza evokes the memories of Italy. It comes out of a marble oven imported from Italy and it’s just really perfect.
Designing Spaces: Now you guys are all over the country, mainly east of the Mississippi, but you are moving westward and, Jacamo, it all goes back to that family recipe and the fresh ingredients, doesn’t it?
The following segment aired on Designing Spaces on Lifetime Television. Joining the show was Eric Larsen from Kaleidescape and Vermon Reed of Homegrid Forum.
Reporter, James Vaughn: Next, we met up with the folks at Kaleidescape and if you’re a movie buff, like me, you’re not going to want to miss this. Eric Larsen is here to fill me in on the ultimate home theater experience.
Designing Spaces: All right, so I was looking for someplace to relax while I’m at CES and I think I found it. This is the ultimate home cinema and I’m hanging out with my buddy, Eric here and he’s showing me some really cool stuff in here. Besides these chairs that just lay back. I mean, there’s some really cool stuff going on, right?
Eric Larsen: Absolutely, I mean, we’ve got the Kaleidescape system here. So, once you’ve got the footrest up, you got the backrest down. Yea, I mean, of all the things you could be doing at CES, this is probably the most comfortable way.
Designing Spaces: I think I found my new favorite booth.
Eric Larsen: Absolutely, it’s just great. We’ve got the Kaleidescape system up on the screen here and the Kaleidescape system is really the ultimate movie server for the home. You know, people spend so much time. They’ve got these huge collections of movies and they want to watch something and they can never find the disk they want to or by the time they put it in the player, it takes fifteen minutes to go through the menus and the previews and the warnings.
Designing Spaces: So, if you’re like me and have boxes full of DVDs lying around the house, this system is for you. Simply load up all your movies onto the server and stack away all the DVD boxes ’cause you’re not going to need them anymore.
Eric Larsen: So, back behind us in the rack, we’ve got a server that has a digital bit for bit copy of my entire movie collection. I’ve also got a player that’s connected to the screen and now with the interface in front of us, I can go through here to our covers view and you’re going to see our entire movie collection laid out right in front of us.
